60+ Days Before Move-Out

Review Lease & Start Your Notice

Most Maymont Homes leases require a 60-day written notice to vacate if you do not plan to renew. Take a moment to review your signed lease to confirm your exact notice requirement. Submitting on time helps you avoid any late fees and keeps your move-out on track.

Good to Know

  • Utilities: If utilities are in your name, go ahead and notify your providers of your move-out date. Power, water, and gas need to stay active through your final day. SimpleBills residents will receive an estimated final bill automatically before move-out.
  • Lock Changes: Please plan to fully vacate the home by noon on your scheduled move-out date. Our team will change the locks that day, and re-entry will not be available afterward. If your move-out date changes after submitting your notice, please contact our team right away. A $500 rescheduling fee applies.
  • Early Lease Termination: If you need to move out before your lease end date, different rules and fees may apply. The Notice to Vacate page covers your early termination options.

Inspection Process

How Your Move-Out Inspection Works

Here's what to expect at each stage of your move-out inspection process, from your first walkthrough with our team to the final inspection after you move out.

1

  1. 1

    Schedule Your In-Person Pre-Move-Out Inspection

After you submit your Notice to Vacate, our customer service team will call to schedule your in-person pre-move-out inspection, typically 30–45 days before your move-out date.

2

  1. 2

    In-Person Pre-Move-Out Inspection

Our team will walk through the home with you and point out anything that may need attention before your final inspection. It is a great opportunity to ask questions and understand what to expect before move-out day.

3

  1. 3

    Digital Pre-Move-Out Inspection

Around 21–30 days before your move-out date, everyone in your household will receive an email to complete a digital inspection from their phone. This gives you the opportunity to document your home's condition with photos before the final inspection takes place. Both pre-move-out inspections are optional, but we encourage all residents to participate.

4

  1. 4

    Address Any Noted Items

After your pre-move-out inspections, you will have time to address any items noted by our team, such as cleaning, minor repairs, or removing remaining belongings. Taking care of these items before move-out day can help avoid surprises at your final inspection.

5

  1. 5

    Final Inspection & Statement

Once the final inspection is complete, you will receive a Statement of Deposit Accounting (SODA) outlining your original deposit, any applicable charges, and any refund due. Your SODA will be mailed to the forwarding address on file within the timeframe required by state law.
